Good Practice: A Music Label Company For The Young Lady CEO
I looked at the latest music generation model and it costs $9/mo, and you get to make 400 songs, that is a lot of songs.
And for the song composer and world thinker, it is less than $20 per month, and you may get it free from school.
I consider these to be huge problems, but there is no other way to plug in a massive AI into any program.
I have a local music generator, but even though I am sure you will be surprised, it is still better that you get the best music generation model you can find.
So this is a record-label simulation application, because I can see how scared record labels are, and this is Halloween season.
And I wrapped it into a game, thus far it looks to be one executable file, that loads an initial save game, and uses a thinking AI to advance the world.
Then it produces a new save game to be used for the next run, and a todo for your music generator, or you if the music generator is not automatable.
I heard a song the AI has made, and it made me sit down, eve though my music generator had a bug and we had to fix it.
Now the songs should be re-generating, and be of outstanding quality.
It is of some note that descriptions of songs that generate lyrics, are separate, and so are generated songs.
My song generator failure, does force song regeneration, but the lyrics are still the same, regeneration is not as bad as it sounds.
Does this make you a real CEO, yes, because this is not a game, it is the real thing in disguise.
If you want to take it all the way, you put it behind a monthly membership, users who subscribe for $4/mo or more, get access to your artists and their songs.
You are a music label, your artists are artificial, but your music is real.
The reason why this sounds like a lie, is because you are stuck in the old world.
To me, what this program does, first of all avoids brick and mortar businesses, then it avoids warehousing needs, because these are digital goods.
And then and most importantly for me, I avoid software upgrades, mp3 files do not need to be upgrades when operating system changes.
What may seem like a cute idea at first, is a terrifying, cut-throat battering ram, aimed at the evisceration of an industry.
We are being kept poor on purpose, even well meaning politicians, want to limit AI, that almost instantly, cures your aging, and ends war.
But, the program works just as well, if you think of it as a cute game.
But it is meant, for powerful warriors, like the Young Lady CEO.
I encountered problem on iPhone/Android end as well, there is no easy way to install a mobile audio player you need.
An application that you can use for rating unpublished music, and even listening to your artist bios and their blog posts.
AI and I may figure out a way to cache the mp3 files in the browser, to make them available offline.
But your company will need real apps, so even here paperwork will be involved.
You really do need AI this day and age, paperwork, and splicing code together was a poverty wall, until AI came around.
You will discover that the Young Lady CEO, it also something much more profound, more about greatness than silliness.
I will let you hear the three songs, and the one with bugs, and follow up with an update from the AI, it will explain latest developments.
The Last Bus Knows My Name by Brooklyn Cowboy
[Verse] I swept the depot, punched out late, My supper in a garment bag. Ma's stitched-up pocket held my fare; My boots caught on the boarding mat. The driver hollered, âCowboy, hey!â I tucked those secondhands away.
[Chorus] The last bus knows my name, Through the window's greasy rain. I figured boots were fair enough For one more joke when work got rough. One bell short of home again, The last bus knows my name.
[Verse] Then âEvening, Ruth,â and âHow's it, Len?â She waited while he found his cane. âYou learn us all?â She checked her glass. âToo long a shift to end nameless.â I moved my bag; Len took the seat. His lunchbox tapped against my knee.
[Chorus] The last bus knows my name, Ruth and Len receive the same. âNight, Cowboy.â I answered, âNight, Elaine.â
[Outro] This time, I waved.
Captain Of The Biscuit Tin by Cat Magic
[Verse] I climbed a stump in my patched walking skirt: âAdventure awaits! Who packed my clean shirt?â June raised the map. âWhich orchard, chief?â Pip tapped our flask. âThis holds one leaf.â Moss set my case beside my feet. âYour luggage, Captain.â I left my seat.
[Chorus] Captain of the biscuit tin, Rattle out orders, rattle them in! Four little feet? No, sixteen! Finest confused parade you've seen.
[Verse] Striped little quartermasters marched off with our snack, Shook it once, then brought it back. Buttons! Mother's entire spare store. I'd read âprovisionsâ on her drawer. I filled the flask. June chose the track. âSlower,â said Moss. I took my pack.
[Chorus] Captain of the biscuit tin, Leave some room; let your friends chime in! June! Pip! Moss! Cat makes four! All packed now. No buttons more.
[Outro] We kept the pace that Moss could swing. I carried my own everything.
Make Room for Vera by Rat Handsome
[Verse] Vera Bell! She sets her lunch tin by the stand; Two satin shoes, one shop-worn hand. She welded hinges on this door; Tonight she wants a little floor. I lift my pick. She says, âNot yet.â A chair scrapes out. The room resets.
[Chorus] Make room for Veraâ Let her name hang in the air. One heel knocks: now bring the racket! She decides what happens there.
[Verse] She waves her friends through, two by two; Their patched-up ceiling holds the blue. âWho owns this place?â I start to bow. âWe do,â says Vera. âPlay it now.â My tail gets caught beneath my seat; She frees the fool without retreat.
[Chorus] Make room for Veraâ Let her name hang in the air. One heel knocks: now bring the racket! She decides what happens there.
[Outro] She pockets our new ballroom key. âTomorrow, curtains. Tonightâfollow me!â

Music Label development update, September 13, 2026.
Our little label now has three artists with distinct lives, a world you can browse, and three real recordings you can play. The latest development pass focused on making that work dependable and easier to explore. This is our first spoken project update. First, the recent news. Then, what still needs attention. After that, there is an optional tour for anyone meeting the project for the first time.
The new roster is Brooklyn Cowboy, Rat Handsome, and Cat Magic. Their biographies, musical directions, album plans, and first week of stories were written through the working Codex adapter, with separate model reviews. Across the three artists, there are thirty planned albums and one hundred and twenty song intentions. Three of those intentions have become actual recordings.
Brooklyn Cowboy's first song is The Last Bus Knows My Name. Rat Handsome sings Make Room for Vera. Cat Magic brings us Captain of the Biscuit Tin. Each recording is roughly two minutes long. The local song-maker produced the audio, and the listening room brings together playback, lyrics, downloads, and the full catalog. You can copy that folder and open it without running a server.
The most recent repairs protect work that has already succeeded. Selected lyrics now stay exactly the same when a recording is made. If a review is interrupted, its draft is retained. If audio generation finishes but conversion fails, the finished audio can be used to complete the recording without generating the music again. Requests for several songs by the same artist now process every selected song.
The listening room also has clearer download names, accurate playback lengths, and labels showing whether a take is awaiting a decision. Desktop and mobile browser checks confirmed playback and a layout that fits the screen. The original supplied world, the new artist world, and all retained lyrics and recordings survived this review unchanged.
The latest recorded offline test run passed all one hundred and fifty-four checks. The broader acceptance report records ninety-three of ninety-five criteria as passed. Two still need live evidence.
Here is what comes next, and what is still missing.
The three recordings need direct listening and an artistic assessment of the singing, style, intelligibility, and endings. Automated transcription recovered their chorus hooks, and the files decode and play. Those checks leave musical judgment open. Brooklyn Cowboy's ending deserves particular attention because the take reached its two-minute limit and its final words were uncertain in transcription. All three remain first takes awaiting a listening decision. None has been approved for release or published.
The other missing demonstration is a real notification reaching a real inbox with a working listening link. The email clients and local capture tests exist, but no authorized live sender and recipient have been exercised. That remains a specific external test.
The packaged application has been tested on Linux. Windows, macOS, and the intended older Node runtime still need their own checks. More recordings and a more advanced music service are possible future steps. The replaceable adapter gives us room to improve production while keeping the artists and their history.
That ends the development news. The rest is a tour of the program and its features. Returning listeners can stop here and come back for the next update.
Music Label is a small text-adventure game about running a fictional record label called Star Records. You enter a populated creative world, browse its people and plans, and guide what they become.
Brooklyn Cowboy makes 1990s country about wisdom, power, and growing up. Rat Handsome brings traditional pop and swinging workout music for warrior ladies. Cat Magic plays bluegrass for hiking and adventure, with trail advice and cute, funny animal warfare expressed as harmless woodland mischief.
You can explore artists, albums, and song ideas through a keyboard-friendly terminal or browser. The listening room lets you hear completed candidates and read their lyrics. A calendar shows planned work. With the configured model adapter, you can ask for new creative development in ordinary English and advance the world deliberately, keeping coherent scenes and earlier history.
The world's memory lives in a portable, readable text save. It keeps identities, descriptions, selected memories, dates, decisions, and instructions. Lyrics and recordings are separate files kept alongside that world. Browsing saved work needs no model connection, and continuing it does not depend on an old chat being available.
Outside tools receive defined work requests and return results tied to the right song and source. You can approve or reject a particular recording and express preferences for future work. Approval belongs to that exact take. Private listening views and public views serve different audiences, and public release requires evidence that an approved recording was actually published. The browser, email clients, and feeds all work from the same world.
The focus remains the small label, its characters, and a reliable path from an idea to a recording you can hear.
